“Diophantus” Platform: Reporting and Action Against School Bullying
A significant initiative to address school bullying and intimidation has been introduced by the Greek government, through the publication in the Government Gazette of the Joint Ministerial Decision of the Ministers of Education, Religion, and Sports, and Digital Governance. This decision announced the creation of a specially designed digital platform named “Diophantus,” which will serve as a tool for reporting incidents of school bullying and intimidation.
The “Diophantus” digital platform has been designed to facilitate the reporting process and the immediate handling of cases of school bullying. Users, including parents, guardians of minor students, and students themselves, will have the ability to submit reports through the platform.
Among the key features of the platform is the “incident reporting” functionality, which allows users to describe the incidents of school bullying they have experienced or witnessed.
An important aspect of the platform is access through the Unified Digital Portal of Public Administration “gov.gr,” thus offering easy and fast access to all interested parties. It is also significant that each report is submitted with individual login credentials, ensuring the confidential and secure submission of reports.
With the creation of the “Diophantus” platform, the Greek government takes a significant step towards the prevention and addressing of school bullying and intimidation, demonstrating commitment to the protection of students and the promotion of a safe and healthy educational environment.
